Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Bengaluru – Nanjangud – Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary

Guests can check-in and register for the memorable journey from 8:30 AM onwards at Bengaluru’s Yeshwantpur Railway Station. Welcome with a warm smile and board the train, get comfortable and leave Bengaluru at 9:45 AM.
Get a tasty lunch from the train and arrive at Nanjangud in the afternoon. Then head on foot to the famous Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary, one of South India’s most famed wildlife reserves. In the evening, join an exciting jungle safari, where you can see elephants, deer, bison and various types of birds in their natural environment. On the return trip to the train at the end of the safari, savour the evening meal on board and make your way back to Mysore. Overnight stay onboard the train.

Day 2: Exploring the Royal Heritage of Mysore

Experience a wonderful breakfast on board and then visit one of the most iconic royal palaces in India, the Mysore Palace. Enjoy its majestic structure, elaborate interiors and the history that showcases the grandeur of the Wodeyar dynasty.
Go back onto the train and enjoy lunch. During the afternoon guests can opt to visit Srirangapatna, the historic town with Tipu Sultan, an optional visit that has cultural and architectural significance. After, relax for a meal aboard as the train heads off on its way to Banavar for operational services before heading home. Overnight stay onboard.

Day 3: Halebidu and Chikmagalur

Breakfast on board, get off at Banavar railway station and see Halebidu, which was the Hoysala Empire’s capital once. Visit its incredible temples, which are known for their detailed carvings in stone and outstanding craftsmanship.
Head back to the train and continue through for lunch at the lovely hill station of Chikmagalur, home to lots of beautiful coffee plantations. At the end of the day, visit a coffee estate, and discover the coffee history of the area. There are cultural shows and a charming dinner afterwards. Eventually rejoin the train as it goes to Hospet. Overnight stay onboard.

Day 4: Discovering the Ancient Wonders of Hampi

Start the day with breakfast on board ship and then discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hampi. Today, Hampi is a place of great historical interest, with many of its ruins, temples, and other landmarks still standing and waiting to be discovered.
Post sightseeing, back up to the train for lunch. It is an evening that is free to relax and enjoy themselves. Enjoy a dinner onboard while the train makes a scenic journey towards Goa. Overnight stay onboard.

Day 5: Goa – Heritage and Coastal Celebrations

Reach Karmali Railway Station, Goa and have breakfast in the train. Afterwards, proceed to explore the historic churches of North Goa, celebrated for their colonial architecture and cultural significance.
Come back to the train around midday and have lunch, while the train rolls towards Madgaon. Join a special gala dinner event in the evening where you will enjoy unforgettable Goan hospitality, cuisine and entertainment at a luxury hotel in South Goa. Eventually, get back onto the train as it sets off on its all-night journey back to Bengaluru.

Day 6: Arrival in Bengaluru

Have your last meal on board the train at Yeshwantpur Railway Station, Bengaluru. Return with treasured moments of a unique road trip to Karnataka and Goa, experiencing wildlife, royal heritage, ancient architecture, scenery and culture along the way.

♦ Given below are the inclusions, exclusions and other details of the Golden Chariot – Pride of Karnataka.
♦ Half fare for children between 5 and 12 years.
♦ Christmas and New Year being the peak holiday season calls for a 10% surcharge levied on all departures.
♦ As per the Government of India norms, Service Tax @ 5% is levied on the prevalent tariff.

♦ When booking is cancelled 60 days prior to departure – 5% of ticket value will be deducted
♦ When booking is cancelled 30-59 days prior to departure – 20% of ticket value will be deducted
♦ When booking is cancelled 15-29 days prior to departure – 50% of ticket value will be deducted
♦ When booking is cancelled less than 14 days prior to departure – 100% of ticket value will be deducted.

♦ The reservation policies of the Pride of the South tariff (FIT) are as follows:
♦ Payment of 20% of ticket value at the time of confirming the booking is mandatory.
♦ The remaining 80% of ticket value can be paid 60 days prior to departure.
♦ The reservation policies of the Pride of the South tariff (for Groups) are as follows:
♦ Payment of 50% of ticket value at the time of confirming the booking is mandatory.
♦ The remaining 50% of ticket value can be paid 45 days prior to departure.

♦ The Golden Chariot does accommodate children but we ask parents to be mindful of the sophisticated adult atmosphere we endeavor to maintain.
♦ One child up to 5 years of age shall be allowed free of cost in the Deluxe Cabin, subject to sharing a double bed with parents. This is subject to availability of double bed at the time of booking.
♦ For families, with a child between 6-12 years of age, or, with two children with one child below 5 years and another between 6-12 years, we recommend the Presidential Suite which has a double bed in the bedroom and can be shared with a child below 5 years and a sofa cum bed in the living room which can accommodate the older child. In this case, the child/children will be accommodated free of cost.
♦ In case of two children between 6-12 years of age travelling with their parents, you will have to take 2 cabins. The first child pays 25% of the adult fare and the second child will have to pay 50% of the adult fare. One of the parents will have to be present with the child / children in the cabin.
♦ Please note that we do not have the facility for interconnecting cabins.
♦ All applicable taxes will be charged extra.
