Take an eye for an eye look at India aboard one of the world’s most luxurious trains, the Maharajas’ Express. Indian Panorama journey is a well-designed 6 Nights / 7 Days tour where visitors experience some of the iconic cultural, historical, spiritual and wildlife destinations in India.
The journey itself is truly an experience, as it passes through some of the most beautiful structures, royal palaces, sacred customs, wildlife sightings, and cultural heritage that the railway has to offer, all the way through to Delhi. Visit the Amber Fort in Jaipur, explore the wilderness of Ranthambore National Park, visit the Taj Mahal in Agra and marvel at the medieval temples of Khajuraho and the spiritual atmosphere of Varanasi on the holy banks of the Ganges River.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi

Your royal journey starts at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station where you’ll get a warm welcome aboard the Maharajas’ Express. Once you’ve checked in, please be seated and enjoy breakfast in your cozy, comfortable cabin.
The train continues its journey towards Jaipur, where guests are given detailed briefing on the tour and also lunch provided on the train. Once in the Pink City, head to the magnificent Amber Fort, which overlooks the Maota Lake in Rajput style architecture.
Return back to the train for a wonderful meal and a night’s sleep in Jaipur.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included.

Day 2: Jaipur

Start with breakfast, then visit the Royal City Palace Galleries where you can see royal costumes, weapons, paintings and historical artifacts of the Jaipur royal family.
After lunch on board, passengers can enjoy their cabins or take optional Jaipur tours.
In the evening, have a royal dinner at the eponymous residence of the Maharajas of Jaipur, the legendary Rambagh Palace.
Later back to the train as it heads towards Ranthambore.

Day 3: To Fatehpur Sikri from Ranthambore

Get up early in the morning and head on an exciting wildlife safari in one of India’s most renowned Tiger Reserves, the Ranthambore National Park.
Tigers, leopards, deer, crocodiles, sloth bears and an abundant birdlife are part of the park’s wildlife.
Once you have been on the safari, hop back on the train to get breakfast before you reach the next destination – Fatehpur Sikri. Visit the once glorious red sandstone Mughal city constructed by Emperor Akbar in the 16th century.
On-board dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 4: Agra

In the morning, head to one of the most famous monuments in the world – the Taj Mahal. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, and is one of the greatest symbols of love ever created.
After breakfast at Taj Khema which is overlooking the Taj Mahal, head back to the train.
Relax on board or enjoy the various activities on offer in Agra in the afternoon.
After dinner, the Maharajas’ Express departs for Orchha.

Day 5: Orchha – Khajuraho

Go to the pretty old town of Orchha to visit its amazing fort, palaces and temples. Experience a different kind of village as you travel through the village streets in the traditional tuk-tuks.
Have breakfast on the train, then head back to Khajuraho.
On arrival, you are greeted at the extraordinary carvings of Western Group of Temples, which are also noted for their architectural excellence. These temples are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a great example of medieval Indian craftsmanship.
A special celebration of Indian culture is held at sea with a dinner afterwards.

Day 6: Varanasi

Stay at a location with views of the countryside, and enjoy breakfast on board.
At the Varanasi airport, guests can unwind on board or participate in various optional activities, including a guided tour of the city’s sights.Once guests arrive in Varanasi, one of the oldest cities in the world that is still inhabited, they can relax on board or join in on the various activities.
Then head to the holy Buddhist place of Sarnath where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after enlightenment. Travel to a traditional silk weaving village, and have lunch at a luxury hotel.
In the evening, ride a boat down the River Ganges and witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti – a religious ceremony involving lights, chants and prayers.
Return to the train for dinner before starting the train for Delhi.

Day 7: Delhi

Take this slow train ride and savor the slow brunch through Indian countryside.
Disembark in Delhi and carry with you memories of one of the most luxurious train rides in India with Maharajas’ Express.
